In his new feature length film, Mike Leigh, director of Happy-Go-Lucky and Secrets and Lies, looks at the last 25 years of the life of the great British painter: J.M.W. Turner. Eccentric and unruly, the painter went between brothels and aristocracy and was inspired by his frequent travels. However the acknowledgment he received was not enough to protect him from the criticism and sarcasm of the ruling classes. After the death of his father, Turner isolated himself but his life changed when he met Mrs Booth, the owner of a seaside boarding house. Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival 2014;
