Alonso and Nildo go up a road. With each step, time passes, nothing happens and they have no idea where they are headed. In a cart led by horse Ruminante, they race the clock in their last days of life. Alonso has a gift for words and Nildo is charmed by a world of possibilities. But words and ideas, although seductive, are also draining to them. Along the way, they begin to muse on life, the paths they have chosen, their regrets and interrupted dreams. They realize the nostalgia they felt for the past was of little help to them in building up a future.
