The singer of many classic Latin-American songs - “Gracias a la vida”, “Alfonsina y el mar”, “Si se calla el cantor”, “Años” -, Mercedes Sosa, deceased in 2009, is the star of this documentary .This Argentinean soprano folk singer initiated her trajectory with the groundbreaking Manifesto del Nuevo Cancionero. The film intents to pass Sosa’s legacy on to new generations while stirring emotions in older ones, with rare archival footage and many statements given by artists and creative partners such as Milton Nascimento, with whom she recorded “Volver a los 17”.
