After experiencing a traumatic break-up, Spanish director Léon Siminiani decides to go on a trip in order to cure his hurt. The ideal destination to treat one’s soul and rebuild one’s spirit seems obvious: India. In this film journal, the director exposes himself in a raw, straightforward manner, while mocking his own frustrations and bourgeois guilt. Map is a film in the making, in which its creator shares with the viewer his own creative process and becomes himself the central theme. León Siminiani
Born in Spain, in 1971. He studied filmmaking at the University of Columbia, in New York. His first short, Dos más (2001), was chosen Best Film at the Rhode Island Film Festival. He went on to direct the following shorts: Archipiélago (2003), Digital (2005), Ludoterapia (2006), Los orígenes del marketing and El premio (2010), nominated for a Goya for best short film. This is his first feature-length film.
