Maria do Mar is a young cinema student who is finishing a documentary about the ancient country houses in the Douro region, seeking to sustain her thesis about the "real" in the seventh art. She has unlimited faith in the visible, and her candour and naivety, lead her to see the good side of everything, the beauty of the landscape, all that remains of the genuine in the people and their customs. However, she soon realises that the daily life in the last mansion on her list is not so inoffensive. It is a real house of horror. Encounters Berlin 2024.
