On a cold winter day, Sergey Sobolev, a police major, is driving to the hospital where his wife is about to give birth. The mix of joy and nervousness makes him drive too fast and run over a boy walking down the sidewalk. Now, he has two options: go to jail or cover up the crime. Sobolev decides to ask for a colleague’s help. But the case turns out to be a complicated one and soon the major will find out that, once certain boundaries are crossed, there can be no turning back. Selected for the Critics’ Week at the Cannes Film Festival 2013.

Yuri Bykov

Born in Russia, in 1981. A film studies graduate at the Russian State Institute of Cinematography. As an actor, he took part of the Theater of the Moon group, in the Checov Art Theater. Between 2005 and 2009, he built a career directing advertising films. His feature directorial debut was To live (2010).
