Trailer
Marcielle, aged 13, lives in a riverside community in the Island of Marajó with her father, mother and three brothers. Inspired by her mother's words, she venerates the image of Claudinha, her older sister, who apparently left just after "finding a good man" on the passing barges. As she gets older, Tielle sees these ideas turn to dust and finds herself trapped in abusive situations. Realising that this future offers nothing, she decides to take on the violent system which rules her family and the women of the community. Director's Award Giornate degli Autori Venice 2024.
