Nurse Hye-rim arrives at a hospital for her first day of work and is told to look after a paralysed old man who has stayed alive through a series of organ transplants. Sang-woo, Hye-rim’s son, lives off his father’s fortune, but knows that it will all be given to charity as soon as he dies. So he fights to keep him alive. When Chul-oh’s body rejects a new heart, Sang-woo asks Hye-rim to get another one from a new patient, ex-prostitute Madonna, who is pregnant.
