​In 1910, mysterious disappearances cause an uproar in the Bay Slack region. The infamous inspectors Machin and Malfoy arrive to investigate. They soon meet the Brufort family, whose father, a local fisherman, finds it difficult to control the impetuous Ma Loute. At the Van Peteghem mansion, located across the bay, a degenerate bourgeois family is spending the summer. Soon, more confusion and mystery will fall upon both families when Ma loute and the young Billie Van Peteghem start a romance. A fruitcake burlesque comedy from director Bruno Dumont.
