Lúcia lives with her sister Ida and prostitutes often. She falls in love with one of her clients and moves into an apartment paid by him. But the man is constantly absent until he finally leaves. Disappointed, Lúcia goes to live in São Paulo with her elderly uncles, but soon comes back to life in prostitution.
