Few bands have been as loved as the Beach Boys. Led by the genius of Brian Wilson, they condensed the soul of California and redefined music in the 1960s. The joy of the melodies, however, hid Wilson’s private battle. The film revisits the painful relationship between one of the most important musicians of his generation and the disturbing voices in his head. A journey that begins with the recording of Pet Sounds – one of the most influential albums of all time – and goes through until the 1980s, when Wilson became a confused man under constant supervision of a psychiatrist.
