Taeko and her husband, Jiro, live peacefully with their son when a tragic accident leads to the return of the boy's estranged father. To deal with pain and guilt, Taeko decides to help the deaf and homeless man. Official selection of the 2022 Venice Film Festival.
Kōji Fukada
Japanese filmmaker born in 1980, Kōji Fukada directed Chair (2004), Human Comedy in Tokyo (2008), Hospitalité (2010) – awarded at the Tokyo Film Festival –, and A Girl Missing (2019). His film Harmonium (2016) won the Prix du Jury at the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival. He is also an activist in defense of independent cinema, being one of the founders of the Japanese Independent Film Guide.
