It's a beautiful summer day in a French countryside town. Within a bucolic house, a writer pictures conversations between female and male characters from his new novel. In the house’s garden, they talk about their sexual experiences, childhood memories, and the differences between men and women. Is the writer who decides what they say, or is he just putting down on paper what they dictate? In the intervals of his work, the writer breathes to the sound of Nick Cave’s songs playing on the jukebox. New film by director Wim Wenders, screened at Venice and Toronto festivals, 2016.
