Joe Ransom drinks heavily and leads a hard life. Having to live with a failed marriage, he still has a complex relation with his children and some unromantic affairs. In spite of his unstable character, he works everyday cleaning the trees at a forest part. That is where he meets Gary, a 15 year old neglected by his father. The two quickly strike up a friendship and Joe gets him a job, trying his best to turn the boy into a good man, far from his father’s bad influence. From the director of Pineapple Express. David Gordon Green
Born in 1975, in Arkansas. His first film, George Washington (2000), was an independent production winner of the Discovery award at the Toronto Film Festival. His second feature, All the Real Girls (2003), also a low-budget, won a jury award at the Sundance Film Festival. In his filmography, highlights include the Judd Apatow-produced comedy Pineapple Express (2008) and Your Highness (2011), starring Natalie Portman.
