Trailer

In the summer of 1970, Janis Joplin, counter-cultural icon, came to Brazil to escape from heroin. Her detox was transformed into a meteoric and almost anonymous passage in which she lived her last carnival intensely: she was thrown out of the Copacabana Palace Hotel, drank a lot, went topless and met the love of her life. The documentary opens up photographer Ricky Ferreira's archive to reveal the singer's intimate moments. Her hippie appearance contrasts with the era's authoritarianism, in a story which addresses feminism, liberty and free love.
