Luiz Carlos Lacerda

​Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1945, he worked as an assistant to Ruy Santos, Nelson Pereira dos Santos, Jurandyr Noronha and Roberto Pires. He directed around 30 documentaries and nine features, highlights of which include Mãos vazias (1970), Leila Diniz (1988), For All: Springboard to Victory (1997) and Viva sapato! (2004). He is a poet and writer who has been published in anthologies; he is preparing a book of his poems.​
