USA, 1951. The country lives a dark period. Young people are being drafted and sent to the war in Korea. Marcus Metzner is particularly relieved to have been admited at the University of Ohio, which exempts him from military duty. The departure to college also means that he will finally escape his authoritarian and paranoid father. But college life is not as easy as it may seem. James Schamus
1958, Detroit, USA. He studied at Berkley University, in California. He wrote nine films directed by Ang Lee, including The Ice Storm (1997), Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), Hulk (2003), and Taking Woodstock (2009). Selected filmography as a producer: Happiness (1998), by Todd Solondz, Auto Focus (2002), by Paul Schrader, and 11 films directed by Ang Lee. This is his first feature film as a director.
