In 9 years of his pontificate, Pope Francis has made 37 trips, visiting 53 countries. His itineraries follow the thread of the central themes of our time: poverty, environment, migration, peace, and solidarity. In a kind of Way of the Cross, Francis witnesses the suffering of the world and experiences the difficulty of doing more, beyond the comfort offered by his words and his presence.
