Nothing is as it seems when filmmaker Emily Wyland teams up with cinematographer Danny to shoot an intimate documentary about reuniting with Emily’s estranged mother after a decade apart. When her mother suddenly goes missing, possibly succumbing to the addictions that first tore her family apart, Emily and Danny must piece together increasingly sinister clues to find her before it’s too late.
Pedro Kos
From Rio de Janeiro and with a B.A. in Theatre Directing from Yale. His directorial debut, Bending the Arc, (2017), premiered at Sundance. Co-directed the short Lead Me Home (2021), which was Oscar-nominated. His latest feature, Rebel Hearts (2021), premiered at Sundance. He worked on the Emmy-nominated The Great Hack (2019) and edited docs like Waste Land (2010), The Square (2013) and The Crash Reel (2013).
