The number of orphaned children in Iraq today has been esteemed to be 800 thousand, victimized by the wars and occupations which have ravaged the country in the last years. In Al-Sadr City, one of Bagdad’s most violent neighborhoods, Husham houses 32 children in a little orphanage with only two rooms. Donations and funds are scarce. The situation get worse when the owner of the house demands to have it back in two weeks. While dealing with the individual dramas of each child, Husham must go the rounds to find a solution. Mohamed Al-Daradji, Atia Al-Daradji
Mohamed was born in 1978, in Baghdad. He has directed feature films Dreams (2006) and Son of Babylon (2010), awarded in Berlin and Rotterdam and featured at Sundance and Rio. He also directed the documentary Iraq: War, Love, God & Madness (2010). Atia was born in 1964, in Baghdad. He is a producer, founder of Iraq Al Rafidain. He has produced all three films directed by Mohamed. This is his first film as a director.
