Anna is a novice nun in Poland at the beginning of the 1960s. She is ready to take her vows to God when her mother superior suggests that she visit her family one last time before committing to religious life. Anna goes to find her aunt Wanda, a sensual ex prosecutor from the republic. When they meet, Wanda reveals her name isn’t what she thought, from that moment on she uses the name Ida, her real name. A wonderful journey through Poland, where family and state secrets turn out to be darkly intertwined. FIPRESCI Prize at Toronto 2013 and shown at Rotterdam 2014.
