Daniel Blake, 59, has worked as a carpenter for most of his life in Newcastle, UK. Now, after a heart attack that almost made him fall from a scaffold, he needs the State’s assistance for the first time in his life. In his bureaucratic journey, he crosses paths with Katie and her two children. For her, there are only two options: to live in a shelter for the homeless or move to a town about 500 kilometers away from London. A true picture of modern Britain. By British cinema master Ken Loach. Palm D’Or at the Cannes Film Festival 2016.
