A friend’s mysterious death leads brothers Eric, aged 14, and Tommy, aged 9, to experience a terrible feeling of unease. Feeling out of place at home in their little town in the American northwest, both set on a journey to uncharted territories in the wild in order to face their fears, meditate on nature and question their own finitude. With a minimalist narrative charged with atmosphere, this first-time director accomplishes a peculiar portrait of youth and innocence in rural America. Berlin and Tribeca Festivals 2013.
