Oscar Grant is 22. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, loves his friends and is generous to strangers. On the morning of December 31st, 2008, he senses a peculiar tension in the air when he wakes up. Ryan Coogler
Born in the US, in 1986. He attended the USC School of Cinematic Arts, in California, where he made three award-winning shorts: Locks (2009), shown at the Tribeca Film Festival; Gap (2011); and Fig (2011), winner of the HBO Short Filmmaking Award and the DGA Student Filmmaker Award. Fruitvale Station, which he also wrote, marks a promising feature-length directorial debut.
