Fatima is a cleaner and she lives with her daughters Souad, a rebellious 15-year-old, and Nesrine, a first-year medical student, aged 18. Fatima has a limited vocabulary in French, and is frustrated on a daily basis trying to communicate with the girls. One day, she has an accident at work and is forced to spend a few days at home resting. During the reflective period, she begins to write a long letter to the girls in Arabic, expressing things she is unable to say in French. Directors’ Fortnight, Cannes Film Festival 2015.
