20 years ago, the documentary FALA TU caught the attention of the critic and spectators for showing the daily life of a suburb in the North Zone of Rio. Winner of the awards for best film by the popular jury and best direction of the Rio Film Festival 2003, the film shows the life of three real characters who struggle to make rap their livelihood - a poignant reflection of Brazil in 2003 (which could also be today) without r stereotypes. The Rio Film Festival 2023 screens a restored 35mm print of the film as a start of the celebrations of two decades of the Matizar Filmes.

Filmmaker and social activist. In 2003, created Matizar Filmes, where he produced and directed films shown at international festivals and winning renowned national cinema awards. He is currently directing NEUROS, a fiction feature film. He is the founder of Republica.org, a third sector entity focused on transformation of the Brazilian State and the value of public servants – and of Samambaia.org, one of the pillars of Mobile (Integrated Brazilian Movement for Freedom of Artistic Expression), which monitors and combats violations against free expression in the country.
