Murray is a middle-aged bookstore owner going through serious financial issues. Fioravante, his best friend, decides to help him out by turning himself into a rent-boy for beautiful rich women. Murray ends up becoming a pimp to his friend and they both soon find themselves mixed up in a plot filled with financial and romantic complications. Taking on the main roles are Woody Allen (Murray) and John Turturro (Fioravante), who also directs, with New York providing a surprisingly romantic backdrop. John Turturro
Born in New York, in 1957. He is one of the most respected actors in US cinema. He received a Best Actor Award at Cannes for his work in Barton Fink (1991). Among his works in front of the camera, a few highlights are Do The Right Thing (1989) and Quiz Show (1994). His debut as a director, Mac (1992), won him the Caméra D’Or at Cannes. He followed up with Illuminata (1998), Romance & Cigarettes (2005) and Passione (2010).
