When her mother decides to take Dora, 18 years old, off her psychiatric medication, the girl feels like she is waking up from a deep sleep. She now discovers her body, her sensuality and, finally, sex. Her parents are shocked at this unshackled lust and are furious when Dora becomes involved with a man she met at her job as a sales assistant. Seeing an abusive relationship with no scruples, they demand that their daughter stop seeing her lover, but their efforts are in vain. Panorama Section of Berlin Film Festival 2015.
Stina Werenfels
Born in Basel, Switzerland, in 1964. She graduated in 1991, having studied pharmacology, and soon enrolled in the film at the Tisch School of the Arts in New York. Her short Pastry, Pain & Politics (1998) won the Swiss Cinema Award. The first feature she directed was Going Private (2006), shown at the Panorama Section of the Berlin Film Festival. She is also a writer and teaches acting for film at the University of the Arts in Zurich.
