Mohammad Rasoulof
Born in Shiraz, Iran, in 1972. A sociology graduate at the University of Tehran. His directorial debut was The Twilight (2002). His films include The White Meadows (2009) and Goodbye (2011), best director at Cannes’ Un Certain Regard. In 2010, he was arrested on charges of filming without a license. He was sentenced to one year in prison and banned from filmmaking for 20 years. Up to this day, none of his films have ever been shown in Iran.
