In 1991, Rolfe Kanefsky released his self-aware horror film, There’s Nothing Out There. Five years later, Wes Craven released his own self-aware horror film, Scream. This film explores the connection between the two, and why one was overlooked by audiences while the other was credited for revitalizing the horror industry.
