Mozambique has been destroyed by the civil war. The train that connects Nampula to Malawi is the only hope for hundreds of people willing to risk their lives on a journey for survival. Among them is Mariamu, a frequent traveler, Rose, a nurse, who is living the reality of war for the first time, on her way to a new hospital, Lieutenant Taiar, who knows nothing but the reality of his military life, and another soldier, Salomão with whom he does not get along. Amid bullets and laughter, love and war stories unfold as the train moves along. Locarno 2016.

Porto Alegre, Brazil. He has lived in Africa for over 30 year. He belongs to the generation that studied at the Mozambique's National Institute of Cinema. One of his books on the civil war was the basis for the first fictional feature film produced in the country.
