During production of his latest film, Paul, the director, is having an affair with Alina, an actress playing a secondary role. On her last day on the set, Paul decides to rewrite the script so as to include a nude scene with her. However, despite his justifications that the scene is indeed relevant, he decides not to shoot it. As he deals with his own indecisiveness, Paul lies about having problems with his ulcer. From the director of 12:08 East of Bucharest, the film was featured in the competitive branch of the 2013 Locarno Film Festival and the Toronto Festival.

Corneliu Porumboiu

Corneliu Porumboiu

Born in 1975, in Romania. He graduated at the National University of Theatre and Cinematography and was a resident at the Cinéfondation Programa, at Cannes. His first feature film, 12:08 East of Bucharest (2006), was selected for the Directors’ Fortnight and won a Camera d’Or for best newcomer director. In 2009, he directed Police, adjective, shown at the Cannes Un Certain Regard section and winner of both the FIPRESCI and the jury award.
