The film follows the trajectory of a leader renowned for his progressive views and tireless defence of public education, through unpublished recordings and the testimonies of allies and critics. An emotional journey in which decisive moments of Brazil's recent history are illuminated by Leonel Brizola's courage and passion. Lilia Souza Diniz, Eduardo Tornaghi and Bernadete Duarte are the director's assistants.
Silvio Tendler
One of Brazil's most important documentarians . he has launched around 80 films, in his 50 year career, taken part in Cannes Festival and been awarded in festivals such as Rio, Brasília and Gramado. His filmography includes Os Anos JK – Uma Trajetória Política (1981), Jango (1984) and Utopia e Barbárie (2009).
