Beth Carvalho, the "Godmother of Samba", was one of the greatest sambistas in Brazil, helping to reveal great names and revitalize the musical genre. Her sensitive capacity for reality perception caused her to document her illustrious encounters throughout her 53 years of stage and pagode. The images of the documentary are part of this vast personal collection in the most different media: Super-8, VHS, Mini DV, K7, and photos. The film focuses on this material to draw a unique, intimate, cut out of the career and life of this singular figure of national culture.
Pedro Bronz
Director and editor of film and TV, Pedro Bonz works with audiovisuals since 1993, going through all phases of making a film. He began his career as an editing assistant for important editors and was part of the first generation of AVID operators, in 1995. Later, he began to edit and direct, always seeking to work with different languages and with various video producers and TV stations.
