Cáit is a nine-year-old girl who has a huge, needy, and dysfunctional family. As summer approaches and her mother is due to give birth, she is sent home to distant relatives with only the clothes on her back. The new life with strangers gradually suits her, until such time as the girl makes a painful discovery. Winner of the Generation Kplus International Jury for Best Film at the 2022 Berlin Film Festival.

Colm Bairéad

Irish filmmaker born in 1981, Colm Bairéad directed the short films Screwed (2003), His Father’s Son (2005), and Páidí’s Tale (2009). He has also made the documentaries Finding the Footprints: A Look Back at Mise Éire (2012) and Frank O’Connor: Between Two Streams (2016).
