Cleo is six years old and is completely in love with Glória, the nanny who has been raising her since birth. After a family loss, Glória must urgently return to Cape Verde, where her own children are, and Cleo insists on a promise: that the two reunite as soon as possible. The nanny then invites her to meet her country, spending one last summer together as a way to say goodbye. Opening film of the Cannes Critics' Week 2023.
Marie Amachoukeli
Born in France, Marie Amachoukeli is a director and screenwriter. In partnership with Claire Burger, she co-directed award-winning shorts such as Forbach (2008), C'est Gratuit pour les Filles (2009), and Demolition Party (2013). Along with Claire and Samuel Theis, she directed and wrote her first feature film, Party Girl (2014). Marie also co-directed the animation I Want Pluto to be a Planet Again (2016) and scripted Savage (2018) and Litigante (2019).
