After losing her documents in a fire provoked by intolerant neighbours, Georgina, a trans Wayúu woman, decides to fight for the recognition of her true identity. With her documents corrected by the Columbian authorities, she can exercise the fundamental right of voting in the elections. Queer Lion Venice 2024.
Mónica Taboada Tapia
Graduate in anthropology and cinema and TV, she presented projects at TorinoFilmLab, Tribeca and Docs Barcelona, among others. She directed the shorts Fidel (2012), Two-Spirit (2021) and Red Flag (2023), awarded in festivals like IDFA and Outfest. She produced the short High Aims (2021) and was showrunner of the series The Pleasure of Escaping the World (2021). Founder of Guerrero Films, she is working on The Cedar, From the Hood and Queen of the People.
