Janaína is an eighteen-year-old girl who lives with her mother and grandmother in a housing complex on the outskirts of Recife. She is the first person in her family to obtain university entrance, but an unwanted pregnancy threatens the plans she had made for her life.

From Recife, she has worked in cinema since 2007, mainly as an assistant director, screenwriter and director. and Her short fiction films – Au Revoir (2013) and Represa (2016) – were shown in several national and international festivals and together won around 20 awards. She founded the production company Espreita Filmes. Not Tomorrow Yet is her first feature film.
