Trailer
Based on the powerful testimony of the Yanomami shaman and leader Davi Kopenawa, the film follows the important Reahu ritual that mobilizes the Watorikɨ community in a collective effort to hold up the sky. The film delivers a poignant shamanic critique of those Davi refers to as the "people of merchandise" as well as illegal mining and the deadly mix of epidemics brought in by outsiders. It privileges the beauty of the Yanomami cosmology, the Xapiri spirits, and their geopolitical strength, inviting us to dream far beyond. Directors' Fortnight in Cannes 2024.
