After receiving news of his mother's death, Thomas returns to Brazil with Beni, his girlfriend. On reaching his destiny, he discovers he is the sole heir of a grandmother who he never met. Curious to reconnect with the family history they visit the house where Thomas is welcomed by two old aunts who treat him like a long lost son. Just as Thomas is ever more enchanted with the place, Beni begins to suspect that something malignant is hidden behind the appearance of a peaceful life in the country. Birthright is a queer terror film with hints of melodrama.
