In 1940 two children of the indigenous Krahô people find a bullock in the depths of the forest, dangerously close to their village. This is the forewarning of a violent massacre, carried out by the region's cattle-ranchers. In 1969, during the Military Dictatorship, the Brazilian State induces many of the survivors to join a military unit. In the present day the Krahô continue to occupy their bloodstained territory, facing old and new threats, daily re-inventing infinite forms of resistance.
