Two teenage brothers take a road trip to the border between Mexico and the United States to track down the man responsible for the car accident that caused their father’s death. Joined by their newly-met step-sister, the three siblings embark on a tense quest for revenge which will ultimately lead them to accept their father’s passing. Mariana Arriaga e Santiago Arriaga
Mariana Arriaga (1991) and Santiago Arriaga (1992) are Mexican siblings and co-directors born and raised in Mexico City by a family of storytellers. Both studied communications, specializing in film. After graduating, they co-founded Memento Mori Films, under which they co-directed three short films: Zero Hour (2019), B-167-980-098 (2018) and Guiltless (2017). They have been co-directing since 2016, and Upon Open Sky is their first feature-length project as directors.
