The film revolves around the unconditional friendship between Jorge Amado, Dorival Caymmi and Carybé, principal artists for the creation of a Bahian consciouness that persists to this day. The three of them argued that the strength of their work lay in documenting what they saw in the streets: the resilience of the Candomblé people, the power of women, and the omnipresence of the sea. Jorge’s books, Caymmi’s songs and Carybé’s paintings and sculptures consolidated a Bahian "way of being in the world" and have influenced generations of artists.
